![]() ![]() I was left with an acidic flavor in my mouth and felt a little disappointed. It paired well with the almonds we were served, but it wasn’t as good as I had remembered from the summer concerts and barbecues. The flavor was crisp and dry with notes of citrus. It had very little nose if anything, it had a bit of an earthy mineral scent. This, sadly, was not the wine of my memory. We started with the 2013 Estate Verdelho. Thoughtfully placed areas to sit and be comfortable while you enjoy your wine. The Brit Comments: With tastings in the Napa Valley being $25 and above, the $15 charge for the tasting represents excellent value. He even pointed out on which part of the Vezer properties the grapes for each wine were grown. He spent a great deal of time taking us through each wine and discussing with us the highlights of each taste. He is the Vice President of the Vezer Family Vineyards operation. We felt very lucky to have Chris as our host for the tasting. Thoughtful seating has been placed around the rooms great for gathering with friends and family, or for enjoying your wine with that special someone. Their tasting room has a warm and welcoming feel comfy seating, gorgeous gardens, and a well laid out bar area. Frank and Liz Vezer have done an amazing job creating a beautiful, classy space where you can go and enjoy their wine. The advancement shows in the quality of their tasting menu.īefore we get to the wine, let’s talk about the winery and the tasting rooms. I hadn’t done a tasting there in several years and was really surprised at just how much both the vineyard and the wine-making has improved since we first started visiting in 2007. The Brit and I visited Vezer Family Vineyards and did a full tasting of their current wine offerings. Those are my favorites.Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Pinterest Email I’d far rather see them sell the Cassie, the Jake’s Blend or the Jude. My only complaint is that they only sell a limited selection of wine at these concerts. Still, the mood of the day was a happy one and we really enjoyed ourselves. We ordered burgers from the Mankas Corner pop up kitchen and they were just OK (In the past they have been good). As crowded as it was people found space to dance and sing along with the band. To be fair, on that occasion they had been sung by Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Glenn Frey so it would be hard for anyone to compete.ĭuring the concert, we enjoyed the 2014 Verdelho and the 2012 Zinfandel, both of which we have written about before.Ĭalifornia Girl Comments: The music was playing, the wine was flowing and everyone was having a great time. I did not think that they sung the songs as well as when I had last heard them performed live. The band played the songs with verve, energy, and excellent musicianship. The band played several of Don Henley’s solo hits, including the aforementioned “Boys of Summer”. The band’s name is the title of a song recorded by The Eagles’ drummer, Don Henley. ![]() They also threw in a couple of lesser known songs: “James Dean” and “On the Border”. They played all the classic Eagles’ songs including: “Take It To The Limit”, “Tequila Sunrise”, “Take It Easy”, and of course “Hotel California”. He lazed on the porch of the Vezer tasting room enjoying the people and the music right along with everyone else. Once again, the event was well attended this one seemed even busier than previous ones possibly a reflection of the enduring popularity of The Eagles’.Ĭalifornia Girl Comments: There was a gate crasher at this event. This was the fifth of this year’s concerts that we have attended. When we first saw this summer’s list of concerts at Vezer Vineyards, we were especially excited to see that The Boys of Summer, an Eagles’ tribute band, were playing at the end of August. ![]() California Girl and I both love The Eagles. ![]()
